FAQs

No. Skin discoloration usually comes from copper or brass leaching out of low-end alloys. Our pieces are built from 316L surgical stainless steel — no copper, no brass, no zinc base. Even when the PVD gold tone eventually fades after 1–2 years of daily wear, the underlying steel is silver-tone and never turns skin green.

No, and we don't claim it is. 316L contains roughly 10–14% nickel by composition — the 'L' stands for low-carbon, not low-nickel. The nickel is bound in the crystalline matrix and rarely leaches, which is why 316L is hypoallergenic in practice for the majority of people with documented nickel sensitivity. For severe nickel allergies, ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium is the only truly safe alternative; Stylr does not currently carry titanium.

Most jewelry at this price uses gold-plating or vermeil — a thin layer of gold over base metal that wears off in weeks of daily wear, exposing patchy silver or green-tinged brass underneath. We chose 316L because there's no plating to wear off and no base metal to expose. PVD coating bonds chemically to the steel surface and lasts 3–5x longer in shower, sweat, and pool conditions than vermeil. See our Materials & Care guide for the full comparison.

Yes — and we recommend you do. PVD-coated 316L is engineered for everyday wear, including showers, gym sessions, and pool swims. After ocean exposure, please rinse with fresh tap water for 15 seconds. Salt crystallization in chain links is the leading cause of mechanical brittleness, and a fresh-water rinse is the single highest-impact care habit.

Yes. We over-spec the structural hardware compared to typical demi-fine pieces — thicker bales, reinforced clasps, and butterfly backs that grip the post rather than slip off. If hardware ever fails under normal wear, our Lifetime Hardware Assurance covers it: clasp breaks, chain snaps, or a stone falls out, we replace it. Three reliable methods: a soft string wrapped around the finger then measured against a millimeter ruler; a printable strip you wrap and read directly; or measuring the inside diameter of a ring you already own that fits. The full walkthrough plus an international US/UK/EU conversion table is in our Ring Size Chart. Always measure at the end of the day at a comfortable indoor temperature — fingers swell mildly through the day.

Necklace length is mostly a function of where you want the piece to sit relative to your collarbone. 16-inch sits at the collarbone; 18-inch sits just below it; 20-inch reaches the top of the bust line. For layering, leave a 2–3 inch gap between chain lengths. Our Necklace Layering Guide has the full length chart, three reliable stack combinations, and tangle-prevention tips.

Product photography is shot at macro distances that exaggerate scale. We try to counter this with on-model imagery and sizing in millimeters in every product description. If a piece arrives smaller than you expected and the photos misled you, contact info@stylr.us within 30 days and we'll work out a resolution under our 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee — usually without requiring a return shipment.

Once a month, soak briefly in warm tap water with a drop of mild dish soap, brush gently with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and pat dry with a microfiber cloth. After ocean or pool exposure, do a 15-second fresh-water rinse the same day. Plain 316L without stones is also safe in ultrasonic cleaners; pieces with pearls, opals, or glued settings should not go in ultrasonic.

Apply skincare, sunscreen, and perfume before putting jewelry on — most product-related dulling traces back to fragrance and lotion contact. Avoid bleach, chlorinated bath products, and harsh solvents. Skip the ultrasonic cleaner on pieces with porous stones. And rinse with fresh water after ocean exposure — salt crystals in chain links cause more mechanical wear than the salt itself.

Daily-wear chains and stud earrings are generally fine to sleep in. Layered necklace stacks tend to catch on pillowcase seams, which is the most common chain-failure mode. If you regularly sleep in stacked pieces, lay the longest chain straight on top before settling in, or remove the bottom layer at night.

Orders ship within 1–3 business days, Monday through Friday. Standard US delivery takes another 5–8 business days, express is 2–3 business days, and international transit is 7–15 business days depending on destination. Full destination-by-destination breakdown is in our shipping policy. You'll receive a tracking link by email the moment your order ships.

If your tracking has not updated for 7 business days after the ship date, email info@stylr.us with your order number — we'll open a carrier investigation and either resend the order or issue a full refund, your choice. We don't make you wait 30 days to start a lost-package claim.

Yes, worldwide. International shipping rates and any customs duties are calculated transparently at checkout — the price you see is the price you pay. International returns for non-quality reasons are at the customer's expense, so we strongly recommend reading our materials guide and ring size chart before ordering from outside the US.

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee with a No-Return-Needed Resolution. For most issues you don't need to ship the piece back — we offer complimentary replacement, store credit, or a partial-or-full refund depending on the situation. Email info@stylr.us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a clear description (plus a photo for damage or quality concerns). Full process in our refund policy.

When a refund is the resolution, it's issued to your original payment method within 3–7 business days after we agree on the resolution. We send an automatic confirmation email at the moment we issue the refund — you don't have to chase us. Bank processing may take a few additional days to post on your statement.

Premature PVD fading under normal everyday wear within 12 months of purchase. If your piece tarnishes, fades, or shows excessive color loss in that window under normal use (including showering, sweating, and swimming), email info@stylr.us with a photo and we'll send a replacement. The warranty does not cover damage from harsh chemicals (chlorine, bleach, perfume sprayed directly on the piece), accidents, or extreme conditions like prolonged daily ocean swimming.

Stylr's Lifetime Hardware Assurance covers structural failure under normal wear: clasp breaks, chain snaps, or a stone falls out. We replace the piece — no 'skin chemistry' excuses, no proof-of-fault burden on you. Email info@stylr.us with a photo and your order number.
